Floyd Patterson, II can
be seen on television almost every day. He is the spokesman for the Local
Phone Company and appears in their TV commercial spots. The Local
Phone Company is a pre-paid residential phone service company located in
Springfield, Ma.
When they were auditioning actors for the part, Floyd's talent and luck
kicked in and he was signed. He has been with the company now for 2 years.
The spots are shown regionally throughout Ma., R.I.,
N.Y., Pa. and CT. The networks that carry the spots are Fox, ABC and NBC.
Acting has been one of his many passions and he hopes that the future will
bring more opportunities.
Theater has also been a part of Floyd's agenda. In 1999, he appeared in his
most widely reviewed production at the Majestic Theater in West Springfield, MA. It was the one man show of Phillip Hayes
Dean's "Paul Robeson", with Producing Director Danny Eaton and Company Manager Marie Susen. Floyd played the title role. Paul Robeson was a
man who was known best for his acting and singing. Though successful,
he gave up his show business life to pursue more involvement in world
affairs. Floyd says of the play, "It was the most challenging and
thrilling experience of my life. Paul Robeson's life story was so intriguing
in many ways. He was such a gifted man who gave the world so much. The
problem was, the world wasn't ready for him."
